Statement of Faith

Rockin’ M believes the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God, and as such, it is constantly preached and taught. The Bible teaches the following:

  • There is only one True God who eternally and equally exists as the Trinity consisting of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • God created the world, including everything in it, both materially and spiritually.
  • Humanity has fallen due to sin, thus separating ourselves from the one true God, and condemning ourselves to eternal separation from God.
  • Out of his love and grace, God sent his only unique Son into this world for the salvation of the world.
  • The Son, while remaining fully divine, added a human nature to his person and was miraculously conceived and born of the Virgin Mary.
  • The Son, Jesus Christ, revealed God while living a sinless life and served as our substitutionary sacrifice by dying on the cross for the forgiveness of sin.
  • Jesus resurrected on the third day, ascended to heaven, and is currently in session at the right hand of God, with all authority and power given to him.
  • We receive and respond to God's saving gift of grace by placing faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and promising to follow him for the rest of our lives.
  • Belief in Jesus is demonstrated through immersion baptism as our old self is buried with Christ and raised to newness of life in him.
  • Those whom Christ has saved receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to comfort, strengthen, and guide our walk with Jesus.
  • A saving faith is one that is alive in the good works manifested by the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
  • Salvation brings adoption as a child of God and membership in Christ’s universal church, of which Christ is the head.
  • All followers of Christ are tasked with the mission of remaining faithful to God, growing in Christlikeness, and making disciples of all nations.
  • The church’s mission will continue until Christ returns in power and glory to judge the world, the believer to everlasting joy, and the unbeliever to everlasting torment in Hell.
  • Christ’s followers will receive glorified resurrection bodies at his return and physically dwell with God on the new earth for eternity.

Essential Doctrines

  • The full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ (John 10:30, 20:28, 1:14; 1 Tim 2:5)
  • Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; John 14:6)
  • The gospel that Christ died for our sins, was buried, resurrected to everlasting life, and will return in glory (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 2:19-21; Matthew 24:30; Revelation 19:11-16)
  • The worship of God alone as existing in the Trinity consisting of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 8:5-6, 12:4-6; Matthew 29:19).
  • The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith (2 Tim 3:16-17)
  • We are an independent church and remain autonomous to govern our own affairs, independent of any denominational control, while preserving the orthodox faith.

Mission

The mission of Rockin' M Community Church is to provide a church home that grows disciples of Christ, equips people to love and care for one another and reach the lost and unchurched people of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Values

  • Glorifying God - The church will glorify God in all that it does; worshipping God in a simple manner, exploring the depths of the gospel message, deeply engaging with the Bible, and humbly giving God our best (Colossians 3:23-24).

  • Power of the Gospel - The church believes in the power of the gospel for the salvation of souls, the healing of the whole person, and the living of a God-centered life.

  • Beliefs - The church practices traditional biblical Christianity and holds to orthodox beliefs while maintaining the supremacy of God’s Word (Romans 15:4).

  • Equipping with Accountability - The church will strive to develop, mature, and equip every person to fulfill the purpose for which God has brought them to our body. We seek to identify and allow people to use their time, abilities, spiritual gifts, and finances for God’s glory while holding them accountable for their actions and commitments (Matthew 18:15-17; Galatians 6:1-5).

  • Welcoming - The church will foster a welcoming atmosphere while lovingly sharing the truths of Scripture and rejecting what is abhorrent to God. We strive to love our neighbors as ourselves (Romans 3:9-10) so that Christ’s love for all may be displayed and people drawn to Christ. We hold God’s Word as profitable for reproof, correction, and instruction (2 Timothy 3:16) and entrust God to redeem and transform every sinner, just as he did with us.

  • Ministries - The church will live out the Great Commission (Matthew 29:18-20) by gearing its programs, ministries, and outreach toward those God places in our path in accordance with the availability of God-given resources to effectively engage them.

  • Elimination of Barriers - The church will do all that it can to lower or eliminate the barriers preventing the Gospel of Jesus Christ from reaching every area that we are capable of reaching and are directed to seek out by God.
